About

Craig Cooper has earned a reputation as a well-respected businessman and entrepreneur dedicated to an Iowa-Kind of customer service. Born and raised in Newton, Iowa, Cooper grew up learning small-town values and the necessity to help those around him. When Cooper turned 14, he got a job at Marty's Schwinn Cyclery, where he learned the bicycle business the old-fashioned way from his mentor Marty Doane. Cooper then earned his undergraduate degree in business from Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he opened and operated Marty's second shop while in school. Eventually, Craig moved to Grinnell, where he and his family decided to plant their roots. In 1992 Cooper opened Bikes To You, his own bicycle retail and repair shop that he has owned and operated for over 30 years. Along the way here in Grinnell, Craig opened Cooper Construction, his own contracting company, and a real estate management company that maintains rental units and properties.
In 1996 Bikes To You joined The Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa or RAGBRAI, which now boasts over 10,000 annual riders who are supported by a plethora of Bicycle retail and repair locations along the road, as well as charter services that tote people’s bags and camping gear across the state as they ride.
Bikes To You’s charter service on this ride highlighted growth opportunities by featuring bunkhouse accommodations for RAGBRAI riders. In 2016 Craig began building bunkhouses and shower trailers, applying his knowledge and expertise in construction to build trailers with real solid materials and structure. By 2019 Bikes To You decided to sell its fleet of three bunkhouse trailers to Wade Shows, who soon commissioned more to be built. Since then Iowa-Built has worked tirelessly to improve our design using sensible, homier livable touches that can be easily refurbished and continually updated throughout the lifespan of your bunkhouse.

The Crew

Iowa Built has a team of craftsman who are dedicated to their work and its quality. These craftsmen take on roles from metal fabrication, carpentry, electrical, framing, plumbing, marketing/web-design, and even sales. Each of these team members within their roles and amongst the various other needs that they fulfill are all critical cogs in the machine that is Iowa-Built Bunkhouses. We take pride in our people, because they take pride in our name and our product. Every bunkhouse we send out our doors has been strenuously checked and re-checked to meet our quality standards throughout the build process, and the care and attention can be found within each room.

Davis works with our Sales and CustomerRelations at lowa-Built. Davis is a common first contact from lowa-Built, and might call as we begin to reach out to carnivals in your area.
